The surrounding area consists mostly of forests, green countryside and lakes. There are several hiking paths, such as the the Jakobspilgerweg (St. James’ pilgrimage trail), as well as villages with half-timbered houses, watermills, streams, rivers, castles and churches.
If you fancy a swim, there is forest pool and panoramic pool nearby. You can go tobogganing or cross-country skiing, take a rowing boat, paddle boat or sailing boat, go horse riding or play mini-golf, tennis and golf.
Visit a local nature reserve, a monkey and bird park or the stalagmite caves at Attendorn.

The guest house is 800 metres from the Marienheide railway station, and 11 km from the Meinerzhagen exit of the A45 motorway. The nearest town is Gummersbach. 6 km away.
To get here from the A4 motorway, take the Wiehl/Gummersbach exit, and take the B256 to Marienheide.
Change from the A1 motorway to the A45 motorway at Kreuz Unna, take the Meinerzhagen exit, head for Gummersbach and go as far as Marienheide.
There are ample parking spaces at the guest house, and these are free for guests. Guests arriving by train can arranged to be picked up at the station.
